How to manage your inbox | deleting more than 50 emails in Gmail

When you are going to delete all emails from your Gmail account, it won't allow deleting the entire inbox just in a single click. By default, Gmail settings are adjusted to delete only 50 emails in your inbox. Today we are going to find out how to prune your Gmail inbox by quickly deleting the entire inbox or everything from a specific person. Even the Gmail inbox is categorized into major categories such as Primary, Social and Promotion, it seems difficult to find the required information from your inbox. Often if you use your Gmail account for login to Social Media or private business, the simple communication which you made with colleague and notification updates is totally enough to fill up with a huge amount of email.


You may experience it doesn't take long for your inbox to fill up or consume and reduce your free space capacity. Hence to manage your inbox, Gmail has smart and easiest different ways to quickly delete and organize the whole inboxes or select content by labels or a particular contact.  Let's find out how to be smart in deleting emails from your Gmail account. As we mentioned earlier, Gmail has major categories to manage the inbox filed and possible to delete all the content from each category by a couple of clicks.
  • Login to your Gmail account through a web browser and select the inbox you want to empty. 
  • Then you can see a box symbol in the upper left corner just above the Primary category. Tick on the box to continue. Then you can see the appeared inbox email highlighted and once you delete them, only remove the first 50 emails. 
  • Hence you require to do another route to delete the next 50 emails. However, if you have thousands of emails in your inbox, it won't practical to go and so forth. 
  • Here is the deal. Once you tick on the box, you can see just above the Promotion tab, you will see a message 'Select all 1370 conversations in Promotion' depending upon which inbox you are trying to clearing and the number of emails inside of the particular category.
  • Click on that message to select everything in your inbox and go to the delete icon in the row above the message. Then click the delete icon to dispatch all the emails in the Promotion category.
Now you may be thinking, oh! all emails gone. That is crucial, all emails you deleted disappear and go to the Trash folder. Hence, make sure to empty the trash as well. Otherwise deleted messages will remain in your Gmail account and still consuming the space. Here is the Tip! For the safe side when deleting emails, keep in mind to hold 30 days old emails with you.
