Vacancy advertisement - NASA astronauts wanted

Getting into space is a dream that many people have seen all over the world. NASA is hoping to make a footprint once again after nearly half a century. The plan is for the next man to land on the lunar surface by 2024. NASA aka US National Aerospace and Space Agency (NASA), is looking at selecting candidates who will be able to join their future missions. Applications are accepted from March 2 to 31. If you are willing to apply for the position, we will give you some guidelines and important facts. We hope this article will help you somehow and we happy if you acquire any information from our article to your success.

Nationality is important
NASA has selected 350 candidates for training as astronauts since the 1960s, and there are now 48 active astronauts. Since NASA is a US federal agency, the first qualification required is American citizenship. Dual citizens can also apply.

This rule did not exclude everyone. Late British astronaut Pierce Sellers is a US citizen who left the UK to pursue his dream of becoming an astronaut. He later joined three space shuttle missions. A science background is another basic requirement. Recruits must have a bachelor's degree in science or mathematics, including engineering, biology, physics, computer science, or math. Eligible physicians or individuals who have completed a nationally recognized pilot program can apply.

Education qualifications are not enough. Two years of professional experience in the relevant field or a minimum of 1,000 hours flying like a jet aircraft pilot.

Next step?
After completing the online application, the next step is for the candidates to pass the fitness test. Those who pass will become an aeronautical candidate, which means they will have to undergo another two years of training and evaluation.
During that time, military-style water survival, technical skills, robot training as well as Russian language training courses should be taken. Even those who did not complete training during that time will be selected for other positions at NASA, the agency said.

Cheers!
