How to enhance WhatsApp security on iPhone with biometric feature and encryption

Among popular messaging platforms, WhatsApp secures their data with end to end encryption and recently released an update with touch ID and face ID to enhance data security.


Millions of users daily using WhatsApp service as a messaging service. Sometimes a billion of dollars can be transferred after finishing an agreement or deal which has been discussed via WhatsApp. When considering this kind of examples, we should all be keen to enhance security. WhatsApp has already end to end encryption security mechanism. Currently, encryption techniques have been merged by biometric security as a way of locking the messages up.

How to Verify that WhatsApp Chat is Encrypted?

By default, all WhatsApp messages are automatically set to end encryption. However, for the safe side, you can confirm that your chat is encrypted. With encryption technique, even WhatsApp and other parties couldn't able to read your messages. 

To check the feature, open WhatsApp and the chat is question. Next, tap on the chat name at the top of the screen to proceed.


The next screen will show you all the option which has been available for the particular chat. Scroll down and check the encryption. Here you can see the end to end encryption has been enable. If you want to see more details, a simple tap on the encryption option.



How to Enable Touch ID and Face ID?

By depending on your iPhone, you can select which feature you can enable. Open WhatsApp and tap setting to enable either Touch ID or Face ID.


Next, Tap on the Account tab to continue. 


Select Privacy.


In the privacy window, you will enable to see the new option to enhance the security. Navigate to bottom of the screen and tap 'Screen Lock' to process. 


Now you jump into the final section. You have to ON either Face ID or Touch ID as a biometric security feature to enhance your WhatsApp messaging security. Follow these simple steps to upgrade you security level. 

Now your WhatsApp messages are totally secured with end to end encryption and protect with biometric verification as well.
